The Small Dog Blog

Learnings, teachings and tips & tricks for anyone who has a small dog in their life. I’m not a veterinarian, but I have learned many things along the way of being a hardcore #dogmom. This is food for thought and as always, research and do what is best for your crew. What works for one dog may not work for another, each individual is unique! If you click on a link to a product in any of the Blog/Vlogs then I may receive a small comission on that product if you purchase it.

A Very Chibean Crew Thanksgiving!

November 27, 2020

Here is our very doggy centered quarantine Thanksgiving 2020. Mahm made a dog friendly version of Thanksgiving that you can watch and enjoy. We’ll go over all the recipes she used and ALSO you’ll get to see the festivities at the end (fast forward if you’re just into dogs eating together at the table). The spread included:

Cranberry, cinnamon, goat milk cocktail

Mashed cauliflower

Roasted veggies

Liver and cranberry “gravy”

Cornish game hen

Doggy Pupkin pies

Be sure to use good judgement for your crew on how much and what to feed them. This is basically what my dogs get for dinner most nights after it was plated together so it was not a shock to their system. If you have a mostly kibble fed dog there are many benefits of adding fresh foods to their bowl, but add fresh foods slowly! It takes time for a dogs stomach acid to change from a heavy carb digestion to a whole fat and protein stomach acid. Check out Judy Morgan DVM, Karen Becker DVM or a certified dog nutritionist you trust for more information on home cooking and balancing meals!
